Brim Lakeside Park, Victoria

Brim Lakeside Park, is a great camp on the edge of this small country town. Located next to a lake this bush camp is by donation of $10 a night, payable at the pub or donation box at the amenities block. The camp is great for all types of camping, from caravans to swags and offers a kids playground, picnic tables, rubbish bins, a boat ramp, fishing in the lake, flushing toilets, hot showers and a few powered sites. This is a great camp while doing the Silo Art Trail

Cann River Rainforest Caravan Park, Victoria

Cann River Rainforest Caravan Park, is an old caravan park the local council has re-opened as a 48 hour free camp. There is bays for caravans and campervans as well as an area at the rear for tents. The amenities block is still there with flushing toilets and cold showers, they are cleaned regularly. This beautiful camp is on the Princess Highway and by the Cann River, making it a great base to explore the local area or just time to relax after a long drive. The camp has BBQ’s, picnic tables, rubbish bins, water, dump point and is pet friendly.

Free Camping at Kyneton Streamside Reserve, Vic

20161110_180338Kyneton Streamside Reserve is a 48 hour stopover on the edge of a beautiful park by the Campaspe River, there is caravan and camper-van spots marked out making it easy to drive through. There is public toilet, dump point, water, BBQ, picnic tables, pet friendly and rubbish bins. Phone reception is low in this stopover.

Low Cost Camping at Killiarny Beach Camping Reserve VIC

20160506_073042Killiarny Beach Camping Reserve has 50 un-powered and 20 powered sites set around a sporting field and just behind the sand dunes making the beach a short walk. There is flushing toilets, hot showers that are a bit old and stained, there is a free laundry, BBQs, picnic tables, undercover child’s play ground and is pet friendly. Un-powered sites are $21 and powered $26. The caretaker come around in the evening collecting the fees. The camp ground is only minutes from Port Fairy and Tower Hill State Game Reserve, which makes it a great base to explore from.

Free Camping at Northwood Road Reserve, Seymour VIC

facebook_1465267021008Northwood Road Reserve is just off the Hume Highway 4 km from Seymour Victoria. It’s a long grassed camp area on the banks of the beautiful Goulburn River there is a long drop toilet. There is no water or rubbish bins provided. Fires are permitted, pet friendly and has mobile reception.

Low Cost Camping at Murrindindi Scenic Reserve VIC

20160511_083101Murrindindi Scenic Reserve is located to the northern end of Toolangi State Forest.There is a selection of 6 camp grounds to choose from, some are walk-in for tents and some for camper vans, RV’s, caravans and camper trailers. Suspension Bridge is the day picnic area, and where the honesty box is located the fee is $7 a car a night. From this point the dirt road heads up a hill for about 5km to Bull Camp, this road can get a little slippy and muddy in the wet weather. There are long drop toilets, picnic tables and wood BBQs, you will need to bring your own firewood and water. This area is great for bush walking, mountain biking, fishing and relaxing.

Low Cost Camping at Princeton Reserve Camping Area VIC

20160506_162832Princeton Reserve Camping Area is the closest campground to the 12 apostle on the Great Ocean Road, making it a great base. The camp ground is around a sports field with both powered and un-powered sites and lots of room.$20 per night for un-powered, Hot water showers, rubbish bins, toilets and camp kitchen area and is pet friendly, fires must be in raised fire pits, bring your own firewood and water as water here is bore water.
